Organized by the Librarian Club, a group of school librarians joined a guided tour to visit the Main Library of the University of Hong Kong on May 29, 2023. During the tour, students learned about the architectural styles of the library, the collection and categorization methods of books on different floors, and the division of manpower. They also visited different study rooms designed to cater to students’ learning needs.

The tour guide provided specific emphasis on the preservation and search methods of valuable documents at the library. In addition, students learned about the use of technology through the self-service borrowing and returning machine and electric mobile bookshelves. All of these experiences helped to enrich the students’ knowledge of how a university library is run and sparked their interest in the related field of library administration and management.
