Adventure-Based and Leadership Training for Budding Leaders

Program A
The first Adventure-Based and Leadership Training for Budding Leaders program took place on 14 April 2023 at Tung Lung Island. The program aimed to develop leadership skills and foster personal growth among the participants. The day was filled with exciting adventure challenges, including abseiling, rock climbing, and short mountain climbs.

30 Budding Leaders (BLs) from S2 to S.4 actively participated in the activities, displaying resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. The challenges provided an opportunity for them to step out of their comfort zones and overcome obstacles while working together as a team. The students showed great enthusiasm and determination throughout the adventure activities.

The experience on Tung Lung Island not only offered thrilling physical challenges but also served as a platform for building leadership qualities. The students learned to communicate effectively, make decisions under pressure, and support their teammates. The program encouraged them to take initiative, demonstrate adaptability, and develop their problem-solving abilities.

 

Overall, the event was a successful and enriching experience for the participating students. They gained valuable life skills, built stronger bonds with their peers, and developed a sense of achievement through their accomplishments during the adventure challenges.

 

Program B
On 7 July 2023, the Adventure-Based and Leadership Training for Budding Leaders continued with Program B at The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups Stanley Outdoor Activities Centre. The day focused on a variety of adventure challenges that aimed to enhance the students’ leadership skills and promote team spirit.
32 Budding Leaders (BLs) from S2 to S.3 engaged in a series of adventure activities, including the skills training on using the Sit-On-Top Kayaks and Stand-up paddle (SUP), warm-up exercises, practice sessions, and team challenges on the sea. The activities provided opportunities for the students to develop their physical endurance, coordination, and teamwork abilities.
Throughout the day, the students demonstrated remarkable teamwork, effective communication, and problem-solving skills. They worked together to overcome the challenges presented by the sea-based activities, showing resilience and determination. The program also included a debriefing session, allowing the students to reflect on their experiences and share their insights. The students embraced the opportunities for personal growth, learning, and leadership development. They embraced the spirit of adventure and emerged as more confident and capable individuals.

 

 

In conclusion, the Adventure-Based and Leadership Training for Budding Leaders in Programs A and B provided the participating students with memorable experiences and valuable lessons. The activities not only tested their physical abilities but also nurtured their leadership potential and instilled important values such as teamwork, resilience, and effective communication.
