On July 7, 2025, 20 talented students from S.2 to S.5, accompanied by Visual Arts teachers, took part in an inspiring Outdoor Sketching Workshop hosted by Wah Yan College, Hong Kong.

 

The session was led by renowned artist Elaine Chiu, celebrated for her mastery of pencil and watercolor sketching. Ms. Chiu captivated students with live demonstrations of practical techniques and offered personalized feedback to help them refine their artistic skills.

 

Throughout the workshop, students were encouraged to observe the beauty of their surroundings and translate what they saw into expressive sketches. They explored how to use light, texture, and composition to bring their artwork to life, gaining valuable insights into the creative process.

 

This enriching experience not only enhanced students’ technical abilities but also deepened their appreciation for art as a way to connect with nature and express individuality.
