Annual Sports Day
St. Clare’s Girls’ School hosted its Annual Sports Day at Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground on 10 October 2025. For such a vibrant celebration of athleticism and camaraderie, our athletes poured their hearts into track and field events with fierce determination. To cite a few examples, sprinters exploded from the starting blocks, muscles straining as they raced, sweat gleaming in the sun. For those joining the field events, they soared with precision, chasing personal bests in every leap and throw, showcasing relentless training and passion. Meanwhile, housemates in their colourful team tees created an electric atmosphere in the stands, as their cheers echoed across the field. In unison, they waved handmade banners, chanted names, and clapped rhythmically, transforming the sports ground into a hub of unity and excitement.
The highlighted events included primary 5 students from St. Clare’s Primary School competing in the 5×20m Relay and Little Warriors Fun Quest, an obstacle race. In the relay, teams of five sprinters dashed 20 meters, executing seamless handoffs to secure the fastest time. The Fun Quest featured five stations: ball passing, synchronized jumping, rope-skipping, river and tunnel crossing, and hula hoop passing. Their unity and energy inspired all.
Thanks to the 14th Central and Western District Sports Festival sponsoring the 4×100m House Relay, while the Hong Kong Wang Take Foundation supporting the 4×100m Class Relay, 500m race, and cheering awards, our athletes competed with spirited emotions and energy. For instance, the 4×100m Senior and Junior Class Relay champions were 4A and 2G, respectively. The 4×100m House Relay champions for Grades A and B were Green House, and Grade C was Blue House. In the 500m race, 6A earned 2nd Runner-Up, 5L took 1st Runner-Up, and 5J won champion. The Best Sportsmanship and Cheering Performance Award went to Red House.
Distinguished guests, including Ms. Jeanne Cheng Kin-ying, JP, Central and Western District Officer, Mr. Pak-hei Ding, Chairman of the Hong Kong Wang Take Foundation and SCGS PTA representatives Ms. Fiona Tong, Ms. Margaret Tsang, and Mr. Andy Wong, presented medals adding prestige to the memorable day.
