Thanksgiving and Community Support Day 2025

On 19 December 2025, our school community gathered for a renewed and deeply meaningful Thanksgiving and Community Support Day. Re‑imagined this year, the event went beyond a festive celebration and became a heartfelt journey of gratitude, inclusion, hope, and compassion—reminding us that thankfulness finds its truest meaning when it is transformed into action.
Through inspiring sharing, music, and collective participation, students were guided from personal reflection to a deeper awareness of others, and finally to a shared expression of care and solidarity.

Guest Sharing – Gratitude and Inclusion

We are honoured to welcome Mr. Ng Tsz Ho, Marco, a Hong Kong deaf actor who starred in the 2024 film “The Way We Talk看我今天怎麼說”. His performance earned him a nomination for Best New Actor at the 43rd Hong Kong Film Awards (2025). In his moving sharing, Marco spoke candidly about his life journey growing up with hearing impairment — the challenges he faced, the obstacles he overcame, and the resilience that shaped his path. Through his story, students were encouraged to reflect on the abilities they often take for granted, and to recognise them as precious gifts.

Marco reminded everyone that true gratitude is not measured by material wealth, but by how we use our abilities to serve, uplift, and care for others. Warmth, kindness, and empathy, he shared, are far more valuable than any expensive Christmas gift. Adding a powerful interactive element, Marco taught teachers and students several simple sign language phrases to express Christmas blessings to the deaf community. At the close of the session, he led the entire school in signing together:

This touching moment was captured and shared, spreading festive blessings, inclusion, and hope beyond our campus.

Voices of Gratitude – Sing Together to Spread Warmth and Hope

The final part of the programme brought together teachers, students, and the school choir, who took to the stage in groups to express gratitude and encouragement through music and spoken messages.
Between songs, heartfelt messages were shared, centring on themes that resonated deeply with the audience:

  • Holding onto Hope – encouraging perseverance in the face of challenges
  • Cherishing Family – treasuring time spent with loved ones
  • Safe Harbour – appreciating home as a place of comfort and protection
  • Mutual Aid and Perseverance – supporting one another through adversity

Special tributes were also paid to members of our wider community whose dedication and service inspire us all:

  • Firefighters, for their courage and selfless service in life‑threatening situations
  • Medical professionals, for their tireless dedication and compassionate care

One English message resonated strongly with the audience:

“In the face of adversity, let the unwavering spirit displayed in trying times be our guiding light. Together, let’s extend our hands in support, transforming hurdles into stepping stones for personal and collective growth.”

Through shared voices and melodies, warmth and hope filled the hall, reminding everyone that gratitude grows stronger when it is shared together.

Dress Casual Day – Supporting the Community

In support of the wider community, the day was also designated as a Dress Casual Day. Students were invited to wear casual attire by making a donation of HK$20 or more to support the victims of the Wang Fuk Court fire in Tai Po. Participation was voluntary, and many students chose to donate regardless of attire, demonstrating heartfelt generosity and care.
