Sunshine Week

Sunshine Week was successfully held from 9 to 11 March 2026 with the aim of enhancing students’ mental well-being. The Student Guidance Committee collaborated with various academic panels – Biology, Technology & Living, and Physical Education – to organize a wide variety of activities. These events were designed to raise students’ awareness of well-being from three key perspectives: emotional health, eating habits, and physical fitness. We were pleased to partner with several external organizations, including JC LevelMind, the Boys’ & Girls’ Club Association of Hong Kong, St. James’ Settlement, the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, and Otsuka Pharmaceutical Limited. Together, we created wonderful experiences centred on the themes of ‘Gratitude and Appreciation’, ‘Focus and Flow’, and ‘Physical Wellness’. Students responded with great enthusiasm, filling the campus with a warm and joyful atmosphere throughout the week and receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback.

Day One: “Gratitude and Appreciation”

The week commenced with a celebration of gratitude. The school hall came alive with busking performances featuring heartfelt messages, warm postcards, and song dedications. These activities created a touching space for students to express appreciation to friends and teachers.

Day Two: “Flow and Focus”

The highlight of the second day was the school’s first-ever ‘’Space-out Competition”. Thirty-two students participated in a 30-minute mindful stillness challenge, learning the value of slowing down to find inner peace. In the covered playground, interactive booths offered soothing and relaxing crafts and games. Students also learned about balanced diets and the connection between healthy eating and emotional well-being.

Day Three: “Physical Wellness”

The final day encouraged students to engage in physical exercise and recognize its benefits for both physical health and overall well-being. A lively whole-school rope-skipping competition was held, drawing enthusiastic participation from both students and teachers, creating a lively climax for the week.
